Online Therapy UK

Online therapy makes professional, qualified support accessible from anywhere in the UK. This page explains how online therapy works, what to expect, and why it is an effective way to access therapeutic support.

    Therapy Without Barriers

Online therapy removes the practical barriers that can make accessing support difficult. There is no need to travel to a clinic, take time off work, or find a therapist in your local area. All you need is a private space and an internet connection.

I work exclusively online, offering therapy and psychotherapy to clients across the UK. Sessions are held via a secure video platform and last 50 minutes – the same structure and depth as in-person work. Sessions are held via Google Meet, a secure, encrypted video platform.

    Who Online Therapy Is For

Online therapy is suitable for most people and most concerns. I work with adults across the UK who are dealing with:

    How It Works

    1. Get in touch – contact me via the website or email to arrange a free introductory call
    2. Introductory call – a short, no-obligation conversation where we discuss what you are looking for
    3. Initial assessment – a longer session (up to 90 minutes) where we explore your situation in depth and decide whether working together is the right fit
    4. Ongoing sessions – regular weekly sessions of 50 minutes via secure video

Sessions are available Wednesday to Friday mornings and Monday to Friday evenings.

    Types of Online Support Available

This section of the site covers the different ways you can access online therapy:

    Why I Work Online

I chose to work exclusively online because it allows me to reach clients across the UK who might otherwise struggle to access specialist support. Many of the issues I specialise in – coercive control, stalking, institutional harm – are not well served by generalist local therapists. Working online means you can access specialist expertise regardless of where you live.

For clients affected by stalking or domestic abuse, online therapy also removes the safety risks associated with travelling to a fixed clinic location.

    Languages

I offer therapy in five languages: English, French, German, Persian (Farsi), and Spanish. Being able to work in the language closest to your experience can make therapy significantly more effective.

    Scope and Boundaries

Online therapy is not suitable for everyone. I do not work with clients who require face-to-face clinical assessment, are experiencing active psychosis, or need psychiatric input. I work with adults only, based in the UK. I do not offer in-person sessions, couples therapy, family therapy, or work with children. If online therapy is not the right fit, I encourage you to speak with your GP or contact BACP's therapist directory to find a suitable alternative.

Is online therapy available across the whole UK?

Yes. Because sessions are held online, I can work with clients anywhere in the UK – England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

What do I need for online therapy?

A stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or phone), and a private space where you will not be interrupted.

Is online therapy as good as face-to-face?

Yes. Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for the majority of concerns. The therapeutic relationship – which is the strongest predictor of positive outcomes – can be built just as effectively online. Is Online Therapy Effective

How much does online therapy cost?

    For current pricing, see Fees.

Can I have therapy in a language other than English?

I work exclusively in English. However, I also speak French, German, Persian (Farsi), and Spanish, which gives me a deeper understanding of the cultural contexts my clients come from. If cultural background is important to you, this may be something we can draw on in our work together.

If you are looking for online therapy in the UK, I offer a short, free introductory call. There is no obligation – it is simply a chance to talk through what you are looking for.

    Get in Touch

How do online therapy sessions work?

Sessions take place via Google Meet. I send you a link before each session and you join from wherever you feel comfortable. All you need is a private room, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Sessions last 50 minutes for ongoing therapy and up to 90 minutes for the initial assessment. If your internet drops, we can switch to a telephone call as backup.

Is online therapy as good as face-to-face?

Yes. Research supports that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for a wide range of issues. Many clients actually find it easier to open up from their own space. You also save time and energy on travel, which can be especially important if you are going through a difficult period. The quality of the therapeutic relationship matters more than the medium.

Who is online therapy suitable for?

I work with adults aged 18 and over who are based in the UK. Online therapy suits most people, but you do need a private space where you will not be overheard or interrupted, and a reliable internet connection. I work with individuals only - I do not offer couples or family therapy. If you are unsure whether online therapy is right for you, we can discuss it during the free introductory call.

What do I need for an online therapy session?

You need a private, quiet space where you will not be disturbed for the full session. You need a device with a camera and microphone - a laptop, tablet or phone all work. A stable internet connection is important. I recommend using headphones for extra privacy. I use Google Meet, which works in most web browsers without needing to install anything. I will send you the link before each session.
